ABOUT ME

Learn more about me below.

I am Owen Ma Sai Lam, a MArch (Hons) Architecture graduate at the University of Bath.  Born and raised in Hong Kong with 11 years of education in the UK, I am fluent in Cantonese, English and Mandarin.

At the University of Bath, the well-structured course equips me with a series of practical skills.  Modules include design studio, digital illustration, history and theory, management and law, detailed design and building environment.  Click here to view my portfolio and a summary of my work.

Regarding work experience, I have partaken in a 6-month placement in each of these practices - WilkinsonEyre Aisa Pacific and EUREKA.  I was part of projects in various sectors, including infrastructure, commercial, residential, educational and redevelopment.  With experience spanning from the design phase to the construction phase, I was responsible for creating digital models, physical models, visualisations, various drawings and statutory documents, compiling design proposals and handling communications.

I am comfortable with a range of software, including Rhinoceros 7, Grasshopper, AutoCAD, Vray, Enscape and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects).  I am also looking to learn more about BIM technologies as it will be an increasingly significant part of the industry.

Apart from academic work, I have also explored a variety of different skills.  These include electronics, fibre arts, 3D printing, etc.  More relevant topics include computer modelling, rendering and motion graphics.
