Located in Jinhua, WilkinsonEyre was the appointed architect to design a bridge to meet the growing economy and population of the city.
The bridge spans across a total distance of 350m, paired with an eye-catching 60m tall V-shaped pylon. The design of the bridge ties in closely with the new developments of the city, harmonising with the existing bridges while giving the local community a breath of fresh air. Working closely with the structural engineers (Cundall), a variety of parametric options are explored in conjunction with structural optimisations. Through the iterations, it has created a structurally sound yet elegant solution.
I have worked closely in all aspects of this project from the initial briefing to the submission of the design proposal.

This design experiment challenges the concept of space within our community and prompt us to explore neglected areas of our surroundings. By nature different spaces will juxtapose each other, creating a series of constrasting spaces. Through this experiment, we have isolated and exaggerated the characteristics of 4 selected locations In Hong Kong (Shum Shui Po, Tsuen Wan, Ngong Ping & Sha Tin) through architecture means. These additional spaces often adds another dimension or allow one to experience the difference sensations at once. The aim is to seamlessly guide and reintroduce these spaces we experience on a daily basis from another perspective, allowing everyone to re-imagine our community.
This project proves to benefit from multi-media production, utilizing collages, digital models, physical models and audio visual elements to convey the unique spatial experience. I am in charge of creating physical models and video production while educating the team on the technicality of creating these works. This opens up the opportunity for me to lead within a work environment.
